As the warm weather begins setting in, so does the guilt of leaving your dog behind when you head out for a day on the town. With things returning back to normal, we can’t forget about our four-legged friends! They've grown accustomed to having us around for play-time and scratches, so it's only fair that we bring them with us as we venture out. To help, we’ve compiled a list of dog-friendly restaurants throughout the Seacoast that will welcome your dog with open arms. As always, make sure that your dog is well-behaved, remains leashed, and is friendly.
1. Throwback Brewery
7 Hobbs Road, North Hampton, NH 03862
To start things off with our dog-friendly restaurants, let us introduce you to Throwback Brewery. With beer created and sourced from local ingredients around New England, enjoy a cold one with your pup right by your side. Their beers range from sours to fruity, and hoppy to malty. Whatever your palette is, Throwback Brewery is sure to have something that makes your taste buds smile from ear to ear.
If you get hungry, no worries - they’ve got you covered. We recommend their Smoked Brisket Sliders, Korean Wings, or Throwback Burger. But don’t take our word for it, go check it out! Although dogs aren’t allowed inside the restaurant, feel free to bring them along (leashed, of course) to hang out in the beer garden.
In addition, Throwback Brewery offers community events to bring their customers together. Whether you're interested in monthly book club meetings, want to sharpen your yoga skills, or learn a few new chords on the guitar, it's a great way to step out of your comfort zone and make some new friends!
2. BRGR Bar
34 Portwalk Place, Portsmouth, NH 03801
Located in the heart of Portsmouth, BRGR Bar is a dog-friendly eatery serving up mouth-watering burgers and boozy milkshakes. Combining the essence of a local pub with a modern twist, this restaurant is great for a night out with your friends, family, or significant other.
They take pride in their burgers, with all their beef coming directly from Maine with no added hormones or antibiotics. Something for everyone, their burgers include turkey, duck, bison, and even seared tuna options! If there’s nothing on the menu that fits your style, simply create your own. Brunch is also served every Sunday from 11a-2p, be sure to stop by the next time you’re craving a hearty meal!
3. Cisco Brewers Portsmouth Pub
35 Corporate Drive, Portsmouth, NH 03801
Brews, wine, and cocktails oh my! This place is drool-worthy, and we don’t make those kinds of statements lightly. Their lobster rolls are topped off with lemon mayo, the smoked wings can be tossed in a variety of sauces, and their Cisco Burger will have you walking out of there wishing you wore your stretchy pants. On the weekends, grab your crew and head over there for some live music and great conversation. This place is first come first serve, so be sure to get there early to secure your spot! For this dog-friendly restaurant, dogs are allowed both at their outdoor patio, as well as their indoor pub space.
4. The District
103 Congress Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
At The District, you’ll walk into an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff and a mouth-watering menu. Offering up a variety of tasty entrees, take a stab at the short rib, dive into their lobster risotto, or try out their ramen (we recommend adding the pork belly - trust us on this one). On Saturdays & Sundays, head on over for brunch, while you sip on mimosas and get yourselves ready for another beautiful day in Portsmouth. At this dog-friendly hot-spot, dogs can be seated with you outdoors. Stop in and try it out!
